A Response To The Sexism Of The Left
Natalie Keys, the victim of horrific sexism by pro-carbon-tax proponents, speaks out:
The outrageous sexism that left wing youth activists espouse to women who they ideologically disagree with is not only disgusting and offensive, but it is prolific amongst political social networking groups.
Left wing youth movements are so lacking in substance that they attack successful conservative women using fundamentally sexist principles. The first point of attack for many left wing political groups and bloggers is attacks on a young woman sexual behaviour, appearance and "obvious" lack of intelligence. The absolute hypocrisy of this kind of behaviour signals a deep dysfunction in left wing politics. The behaviour of many left wing activists as well as their political leaders shows that they believe the rules of common respect and decency do not apply to them.
The recent posts made by the anti-Menzies House facebook group against myself and my sister are completely inappropriate and it demonstrates how little morality and common decency these slanderer's have. I do not wish to dignify readers with the comments made, but I can assure them that they are against all the feminist principles they regular espouse.
But is it surprising considering the leadership in the left wing movements? Julia Gillard was able to say to the Australian people "there will be no carbon tax under the government I lead", and then immediately introduce a carbon tax in her first term as Prime Minister. Bob Brown and Simon Sheikh regularly coin average working families who oppose the carbon tax and "climate change deniers" and have even gone so far and to label them as racists, sexists and islamophobics.
The game that left wing youth activists have learnt is to say whatever they like. Why? Because they know that they are not held to the same level of accountability as right wing youth activists are. These left wing activists felt so strongly against my involvement with Menzies House and the Anti-Carbon Tax rallies that they decided to rebut my position on the policies by claiming that because I am a young woman in right wing politics, I must only be there because I am a groupy for right wing politicians. During my time as a youth political activist I have had my facebook hacked and had multiple death threats made. This is simply unacceptable behaviour. It demonstrates a group of people who are so blinded by their own ignorance when it comes to climate change policy that the only way they can express themselves in through sexism; the lowest common denominator.
A great Queensland Liberal Senator once said to me, "the Liberal Party is a place of inclusion and we should focus on bringing people together rather than being devisive". The leftist organisations and their youth wings like to push people out and isolate them for their beliefs, trying to break people by being political bullies.
The Young LNP, the Liberal Student movement as well as other other young right wing political activist groups are full of incredibly smart, wonderful and beautiful woman. I am so proud of be a part of that because we are proud of what we accomplish. The sexism that I have endured only strengthens my resolve to be more passionate about the issues that matter to me as well as the average Australian working family. Left wing sexism is disgusting and hypocritical, but it is not a detterent.
