Carbon Tax achieves precisely dick all reduction in fossil fuel emissions. What it does achieve is a slight increase in the cost of living for every single person in the country. That’s right, the assholes in the Green Party have done it again! The whole argument behind Carbon Tax is bullshit. People will still have to drive the exact same distance to work every day. Nothing has changed other than the cost. Farmers still need to plough the same fields, it just costs more meaning more expensive food for the rest of us, planes still have to fly the same routes resulting in more expensive holidays, imports/exports etc.
Yup thanks to the Greens all of these things are now a little bit more expensive than they used to be. And you know what the best part is? Julia Gillard and her buddies intend to continually increase Carbon Tax again and again and again, just so they can make your everyday life that little bit harder. Not bad for a party that got a smaller percentage of the poplular vote .
What this country needs is a new party, the Petrol Party. Their primary objective would be a massive reduction in the cost of fuel. Sixty percent of what we pay for a litre of petrol goes on tax i.e. to the Bank. If that tax was slashed the standard of living for everybody in the country would improve. That’s right, food would be cheaper, travel would be cheaper, heating your house would be cheaper, hell even flying out for your foreign holiday (which you could now afford thanks to the new found money in your pocket) would be cheaper.
And the benefits don’t stop there, since Australia would no longer be such a rip off, tourism would improve. Since we’d have massively cheaper fuel people from up north would pour across the border to use our filling stations (helping to recoup some taxes), spending as they go. And as for foreign businesses looking for somewhere to set up, well we’d have something to entice them – a serious competitive advantage over the rest of world.
Ok dipshit looks like I need to dumb this down a bit. – This would result in virtually no increase in global emissions. If various factories which would be belching out Co2 anyway relocated here they would simply be emitting their Co2 here instead of abroad. Providing Australian people with jobs in the process.
So there you have it. If you want cheaper everything, and jobs galore fuck the Greens and vote for the Petrol Party.
