Today Julia Gillard pulled the pin on Question Time after just one question from the Opposition. She and her Ministers, tails between their legs, scurried from the House of Representatives in a Convoy of Incompetence to the sanctuary of their parliamentary offices.

Far from scrutiny and even further from the public that government members so disdainfully ridiculed earlier this week, the Prime Minister and Labor MPs ran from the battle and burned shoe leather as they fled.

“What an extraordinary scene we have just witnessed: the Prime Minister of this country and all her ministers walking out at the very beginning of Question Time after taking only one question for the day,” Mr Truss said as Labor MPs deserted the chamber and their responsibilities.

“They have run away from any kind of questioning - any scrutiny - by the Australian Parliament. They are so worried about the personal affairs of the Member for Dobell that they are not prepared to be here to stand up and answer the simplest of questions.

“The Prime Minister is not prepared to take the 10 minutes offered to her to explain her situation to the people of Australia. They have run out of this parliament and closed down question time.

“Have we ever seen anything like it? But have we ever seen a government anything like this one? It is a disgrace to the Australian people. It is a disgrace to the democracy of our land – a bad government with bad policy delivering bad outcomes. And now they run away from scrutiny.

“Over the last couple of weeks, people have travelled in convoys from all across our continent to Canberra to have their voices heard. They came from the Kimberleys, from north Queensland, from Darwin, from Victoria, from Western Australia and from all over this country at considerable personal expense and inconvenience.

“Many had never been to Canberra before. Most of them had certainly never been in a protest, but they know that the future of our country is at risk… they wanted their voices heard in the national capital. But they received the same treatment from this government as the Parliament got today.

“Adding insult to injury, the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport (Anthony Albanese) dubbed them ‘the convoy of no consequence’. Not to be out done in the arrogance and dismissive stakes, the Member for Wills (Kelvin Thomson) shamefully derided the older people in the protest as the ‘convoy of incontinence’.

“What sort of politician is so disrespectful of people as to denigrate those who have come here to have their rightful say? Nasty, spiteful types unfit for public office I would suggest.”

"CONVOY OF NO CONFIDENCE" Was a Great Australian success story!

As 1000's of Australians gathered on the lawns of Parliament House Canberra to protest for a new election and a lot of other hopeless policies that have been put forward by the failing and arrogant Gillard / Brown Government. Thousands more had to stay in there trucks,vans and cars as Government traffic controllers and Australian Federal police where ordered to direct them around in circles and not to let them park near the Building the people of Australia own.


If there is one thing this incompetent Gillard / Brown government can try to do right, that is try and play down the fact that the Convoy of No Confidence was a flop, But they fail miserably to do just that. 


As a witness to the protest I would like to tell you what I saw. The photo above shows the real story. 


I did not see 100's of people I saw thousands of people and as the convoy rolled from there home towns heading towards Canberra, I also was witness to the many great Australian people & towns that the 11 convoys rolled through which where all lined with thousands more Australian people standing and clapping and cheering with thumbs up in support of the "CONVOY OF GREAT SIGNIFICANCE" something the Gillard / Brown Government will just have to get used to. If they think they can play this one down they are again showing there failure to lead our great country and represent the Australian people.

I am writing this letter in support of the Convoy of No Confidence as you are aware yourself we currently have a unstable minority Government which is meant to of been led by Ms Julia Gillard as PM. However as it stands Ms Gillard lied to the Australian population stating "There will be no Carbon tax under a Government I lead". Firstly Australia does not need or want a Carbon tax, Australia is not one of the biggest polluters in the world. The carbon tax will cripple this countries economic state and in times of global finacial crisis the carbon tax should not even be on the agenda. Also the ALP has other scandals and coverups that need to be addressed, we are being led by a dishonest and untrustworthy Government which does not have the people's interests in mind. Also I do not beleive that a communist political party ie the Greens should be making decisions for a diplomatic country. I ask for you as the Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia to consider a vote of no confidence, this minority Government is leading this country to destruction and I ask for you to consider all the facts even those that were not mentioned in this letter.

All roads lead to Canberra

All roads may not lead to Canberra, but quite a few will when many Australians join the Convoy of No-Confidence that arrives in Canberra this Monday.
Major roads in Canberra will be brought to a standstill as truckloads of Aussies join the 11 Convoys heading to the capital from all parts of Australia.

Truck drivers, caravan owners, motorcyclists – you name it, people from all walks of life have been welcomed to join the convoy.

Over 300 trucks are expected to be stationed in Marulan with similar numbers expected with the other convoys staying over at at Coolac, Murrumbateman, Yass, Hall, Harden, Wallendbeen and Cooma on Sunday night ahead of the last push on Canberra on Monday morning.

Here are the routes announced for the 11 convoys.

Convoy 1 – Port Hedland to Canberra (Brown Team)

Convoy 2 – Cairns to Canberra (Pink Team)

Convoy 3 – Rockhampton to Canberra (Light Blue Team)

Convoy 4 – Rocklea to Canberra (Yellow Team)

Convoy 5 – Yatala to Canberra (White Team)

Convoy 6 – Perth to Canberra (Orange Team)

Convoy 7 – Adelaide to Canberra (Purple Team)

Convoy 8 – Colac to Canberra (Red Team)

Convoy 9 – Warrugul to Canberra (Grey Team)

DESPITE Council’s best efforts to manage the ‘Convoy of No Confidence’ as it passes through Goulburn on Sunday, it’s likely that the truckie revolt cannot be controlled.

What started out as a transport industry protest against the carbon tax has spiralled into a broad, seething mass of anti-federal government anger, set to roll down the Hume Highway and explode onto the lawns of Parliament House in Canberra on Monday morning.

No one can say how many people and vehicles will join the convoy, because nobody actually knows. It’s an open-invitation protest against the Gillard Labor Government, and people are signing up in droves.

“It’s going to be big,” NRFA Treasurer and convoy coordinator Peter Whytcross told the Post.

“We just don’t know what’s going to happen when we get to Canberra on Monday morning.” The convoy has been initiated by the National Road Freighters Association (NRFA) - a transport industry lobby group made up of trucking business owners across the country- but the convoy has grown to include other industries and individuals who share the NRFA’s view of the current federal government.

Mr Whytcross said the purpose of the convoy was to force a new election of both houses of federal parliament.

“We’re calling on the Government to dissolve both houses of parliament and call an election, so we can elect a government with a mandate to govern in their own right and not be beholden to minor party interests like the Greens and the Independents.

“We want to bring democracy back. The preferential voting system is flawed when it results in a hung parliament making kneejerk decisions without the consent of the people,” he said.

And the range of businesses and industries lending their support to the convoy is growing.

“We’ve got the mining industry (participating), plus a whole range of small business (owners) from across the board: everything from hairdressers to boilermakers. The list goes on. Everybody’s getting onboard; they’re all flying the flag,” Mr Whytcross said.

The ‘Convoy of No Confidence’ is broken into 11 smaller convoys all converging on Canberra from different parts of the country. Some participants will be staying in and around Goulburn on Sunday night, before departing for Canberra at 5am on Monday morning, and Council is working with the RTA and Goulburn Local Area Command (LAC) to ensure a smooth passage past Goulburn.

Goulburn LAC will have its full complement of police officers rostered on as the convoy passes through, with 30 cars assigned to the task and more available from NSW Police Southern Unit if needed.

Senior Sergeant Alan McCulloch told the Post that police would be keeping a close eye on proceedings.

“All we really need to do is watch it. It should be pretty smooth, but you’ve always got to be on the ball in case there’s a rogue protest- a protest within a protest. “In a group that size there’s always one,” he said.

Most of the trucks stopping overnight will stay around Truckstop 31 near Marulan, due to space limitations of parking in Goulburn.

The Post put in calls to Divall’s transport division, Deegans Transport and Granger’s Freight Lines on Monday to see if any local truckies had signed up for the convoy. All three organisations said no one had signed up so far, but said that may change over the coming days.

As one truckie at Deegans said, “the way it’s looking at the moment, you wouldn’t get anywhere near parliament house. You’d end up parked somewhere around Lake George.”

FOI Documents Show Greg Combet Misled Australians on Carbon Tax! LIARS!!

'Greg Combet, the Minister for Climate Change has misled Australians about China's price on carbon according to documents released to the Institute of Public Affairs under Freedom of Information', said Director of Climate Change Policy, Tim Wilson, today.

Mr Wilson's comments follow the release of FOI documents made available to the Institute of Public Affairs into a Climate Change Department-funded report by Vivid Economics.

'The Minister has claimed China's price on carbon is $8.08 per tonne compared to Australia's $2.34', Mr Wilson said.

'Documents released under Freedom of Information reveal that the Minister's own Department advised that China's price on carbon was really only $1.78 -less than Australia's $2.34.

'The FOI documents show that despite Climate Change Minister Combet arguing China's carbon tax rate is nearly three times higher than Australia's his Department knew it was less.

'After the release of the Vivid Economics report Climate Change Minister Combet claimed 'the myth that Australia is acting ahead of the world is just that - a myth'.

'These FOI documents show the only myths are those promoted by the Minister and he now needs to come clean about why his Department knew he was misleading the public but kept doing so.

'Since breaking its 'no carbon tax' pledge the government has continually promoted misinformation to justify the introduction of its economically harmful tax. It's time the government came clean.

'The government's 'no carbon tax' promise was misleading, its Treasury modelling's based on misleading assumptions and now government-funded reports have been found to be misleading.

'If the government was prepared to have an honest debate about the introduction of its tax they'd quickly know its carbon tax and direct action renewable energy fund would massively increase electricity prices, impose a higher tax than any other country and damage the Australian economy.

'It's time Minister Combet told the Australian people when he knew China's carbon tax numbers were not comparable and why he kept misleading the public', Mr Wilson said.

Piles of carbon tax pamphlets returned

PILES of carbon tax information pamphlets sent to every Australian home have been returned to the Gillard Government.

What a Carbon Price Means for You cost $4 million to produce and send.

Some of the pamphlets arrived at the Prime Minister's parliamentary office yesterday with angry notes attached.

Pamphlets had also been returned to Climate Change Minister Greg Combet's office.
